Some advertising agencies are headed by people who have a real mind for business, while others are led by very creative types. Scott-McRae Advertising is the exception to the rule with a leader who is both smart and imaginative. Jones has a keen business sense and lots of street smarts. But it’s the way he processes that knowledge that makes him such an extraordinary analytical thinker and strategist. But that’s just the left side of his brain. The right side, one the other hand, is responsible for Jones’ witty, intuitive and creative ideas. The result is out-of-the-box advertising that not only breaks through the clutter, but is also highly effective. Rick Jones got his feet wet as a retail copywriter on a supermarket account at the William Cook Agency. From there, he went to St. John & Partners, where he was named Group Creative Director. He joined Scott-McRae in 1996. With a career spanning nearly three decades, there’s hardly an industry Jones has not worked on either in a creative or account services role.
