JEDC

The Jacksonville Economic Development Council (JEDC) was going through major changes and needed to communicate to the various constituencies who may be affected by those changes - government, voters, and citizens. They planned an annual report and looked for an agency to help craft a positive branded message. The Scott-McRae solution? Humanize what is basically a financial institution. We did it by putting a "face" on the numbers via human-interest stories. We were able to weave in how the JEDC was changing. The stories also allowed us to introduced the new funding process, how JEDC would disperse funds, and the impact the changes would have on businesses. The theme, "It All Adds Up,” was developed and appeared on everything. The double entendre not only meant the numbers all added up, but also that the JEDC process all adds up to helping businesses be more successful. The reaction was extremely positive in the community and even lead to area newspaper columnists remarking positively on the JEDC's work.
